Oamaru Stone is a family business, and Judy, who grew up at our Parkside Quarry operating heavy machinery, was recently the hero of a segment on TVNZ’s current events show ‘Seven Sharp.’

If you have a TVNZ On Demand account, you can watch the show here. Judy’s segment starts just after the five-minute mark.

In the show, you’ll get a fascinating insight into how Judy cuts the stone using a three metre diameter tungsten-tipped saw attached to an excavator. You’ll also see how our amazing CNC cutting machine was used to carve out a three-metre-tall statue of the mighty Richie that’s destined for the main street of his hometown, Kurow.
