A SHORT HISTORY:

Parkside Quarries Ltd purchased Taylor's Lime Works in 1994 which was situated on the Parkside property.

Taylor’s Lime was started in the early 1930s when a huge heap of lime dust from the Oamaru stone cutting saws was successfully marketed as an agricultural lime, possessing an average analysis of 98.5 percent pure carbonate of lime.

Crushing and Drying facilities were slowly introduced at the Oamaru Stone Quarry site until in 1945 a new crushing and drying plant was established at the present site.

In 1961 Taylor's Lime was purchased by Milburn Lime and Cement Company, Now NZ Cement Holdings, who continued to operate the plant until purchased by Parkside Quarries Ltd in 1992.

Since then large bulk storage facilities have been built and the latest crushing techniques introduced to both quarries, along with bulk handling and quarrying improvements, making Lime and Lime Stone a viable and competitive fertilizer and building material.
